Shure MX418 Reviews

Built-in Mute switch is a winner!

We purchased this microphone to replace a unit that had an in-line on-off XLR switch that generated a loud pop. The old unit was shorter and flopped around in the lectern and was hard to keep in place for whoever was speaking. The MX418SC's lighted and totally quiet mute switch and mounting ring/bracket solved all those problems and has better audio quality. Due to the built-in preamp, we cranked down the gain at the mixer.

This microphone is 24 end to end and gives us just what we need for the pulpit so that our readers can be heard better.

Can I connect it to my laptop?
Asked by: Frank
This condenser goose neck mic can be used with a computer with the addition of an audio interface, such as the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2x2 USB Audio Interface (3rd Generation), BH #FOSCARSOLO3G. The audio interface can provide the necessary 48 volt phantom power that the mic requires, as well as convert the analog signal into a digital signal, which then conects via the included USB cable to your computer.

question

we are using shure MX418 microphones {4 mics} and when they work they start to do noise instead of amplify the voice. Is there some Batreys in them that need to be changed?
Asked by: seb c.
They have no batteries, my guess is that the connector is loose or the problem is elsewhere. This mic should give you at least 10 years of service. Usually this frequency response changes for the worse over time.
