From our tests at the superstore, the Vello BG-S7 has a solid feel when installed on the A7IV and has a pretty good fit to the body. While it's highly likely any Sony-made battery grip would have a better fit, we found the Vello to be a great alternative to any OEM grip.

The on/off switch would only turn off the vertical shutter release. The main switch on top of the camera would still need to be utilize to shut the camera down fully.
