Godox RC-R9 Reviews
Can't turn off remote without turning off lights
I would probably give this remote 4 stars if not for the following issue: I want to turn off the remote so not to burn through batteries, while leaving my lights still on for long periods of time, but this seems impossible. The power button on the remote turns off both the remote and the power on all the lights. What I have to do is set the lights to the settings I want with the remote, then pull the power from all the lights, then turn off the remote, and re-plug in the lights to power. That is the only way I have been able to work around this design flaw, unfortunately.
Works perfectly, with a slight delay.
All the functions of this remote work well with the Godox SZ150R. Considering the bluetooth phone app that is currently available is not great and does not control all functions of the light, this remote is the way to go. Note that if you are making big numerical change, you will see the numbers changing on the remote, but nothing will change on the light until you stop. Then the light will make the change, like from 20% brightness to 80% for example. This isn't a flaw. The system works perfectly. It just takes some getting used to. All in all a very useful and important tool to have for dialing in various settings on a multi-function light like the Godox SZ150.
