Lilliput BM120 Overview

Built for travel and location work, the Lilliput 12.5" 4K Broadcast Director Monitor with SDI, HDR & 3D LUTS in Hard Case is a portable self-contained monitor solution with a wealth of features suited to broadcast productions. Enclosed in a protective case, the monitor's 3840 x 2160 LCD panel is built into the lid, with the Mini V-mount battery plate and inputs/outputs located in the base, and with all connections protected from dust, water, and damage during transport and storage. The case lid has two pistons that protect the built-in panel by preventing the lid from being jerked open or accidentally slammed shut.

The monitor has 3G-SDI input and output supporting 1080p60, two HDMI 2.0 inputs that support 4K60, and two HDMI 1.4b inputs that support 4K30. The monitor also supports VGA and DVI inputs. Video signals inputted via any of these ports will be properly scaled to fit the entire screen. The USB port is used to load LUTs into the monitor, while analog audio from the RCA inputs or embedded digital audio from video inputs can be heard using the monitor's built-in speakers or via the 3.5mm headphone output. There is a tally input, and a DB-9 tally adapter is included to utilize tally information on the monitor. The monitor also supports adjustable HDR color spaces, and you can choose built-in presets or load custom 3D LUTs via its USB port. For power, this monitor accepts a Mini V-mount battery (not included), and it has a built-in coaxial power input that accepts 10 to 24 VDC.

Note:
Please note that this only works with a Mini V-mount battery due to space considerations.

Lilliput BM120 Reviews

V Mount Battery is not a standard size !! very poor Design

We recently purchased the BM120-4KS 12.5 4K HDMI Broadcast Director Monitor With SDI, HDR, and 3D LUTS, and realized that NOT a single one of our V mount batteries ( we use Panasonic and Red cameras ) fitted the V mount battery in the case. we have multiple standard Anton Bouer v mount batteries. Obviously, the standard one does not fit in the case product. Can you point us to the specs and SIZES of the required battery? I am not sure why they build a product to be used with V mount batteries but were not able to fit the standard one. Further, No info is provided in your specs other than v mount battery. It's a good thing we take a generator with us on shoots, last week we did a TV commercial for a company out of Finland and found out our (standard) v mount batteries did not fit the case. REALLY poor design/ thought if I may say. BH needs to add the specs of the needed battery (size) .

The best

I love this product so much it offers what I need at a seconds notice. I use this every day for my productions and it provides me with the best 4K monitor that is portable.

Don't buy if you plan to use V Mount

Its pretty crazy to think they put the work into this and made it almost entirely incompatible with most any V mount battery on the market. I wont go into specifics, but whoever made this did not try to actually use it with the batteries they designed it to work with.

Checks out fine. Not too difficult.

It's what they advertise. I shoot in Colorado and plan to take it camping with me, so I need rugged monitor like this.

hi, but isn't a 2,35:1 a crop - not a de-squeeze ratio? We know it has crops, but does it have 1.33/1.5/1.8/2.0 de-squeeze options?

I have multiple Sony FX6's that are going to be used on set. Am I right when seeing this only allows one of them to show the HDR image? I'm really considering this product and I'd hate for that to be the only reason I consider another.
Asked by: Bryan
You're correct that the Lilliput 12.5" 4K Broadcast Director Monitor with SDI, HDR & 3D LUTS in Hard Case (B&H# LIBM1204KS) only supports HDR through its first HDMI port. However, an HDR image can still be displayed (albeit not looking great) through the other inputs. Theoretically, you could even use an add-on switcher attached to HDMI port 1 so that you could choose any input to be displayed through that particular input. (In such a case you'd also need a splitter in the line coming from each HDMI video source, in this case your cameras.)
