AVMATRIX UC2018 Reviews
Doesn't work consistently, no service
I originally wrote a review (yes I'm the other Jake) saying that the only real bad issue is the audio. Well things got worse. Not sure if this issue was there before and I just didn't notice, or if there is a problem with the unit that I have. On Windows initially it seems to work fine but it will start to drop frames. After 30 minutes you get a 1/2 second of full motion video then about 2 seconds of a frozen frame. Not good. I tested on Mac and it doesn't do that, but it does take forever to initialize and then after about 2 minutes it will pop up an error saying that it is dropping frames. I tried reaching out to AVMatrix but it seems they don't have a support branch, just sales and I've not received any responses from the sales email address. At this point the device is useless and I can't get it replaced. Now maybe I just have a bad unit, but at this point it's a paper weight and without the ability to work with the company to address the issues eliminates it from my future purchasing list.
Works flawlessly for remote workflows.
Plug and play with my mac and Zoom calls, nice to have the option of SDI or HDMI.
