Zoom products are a blessing and a curse. Each device has some great qualities but each device will also leave you with questions about the decision making over at zoom. I have 4 zoom handy recorders and each one has made me happy and each one has been somewhat frustrating. I feel like they take Apples software update approach to their products. Fix one thing, ruin something else. The customer should be mostly happy but never fully happy. Happy customers are bad for business. James is a salesman.

The capsule will add an additional 4 XLR inputs to the recorder for a total of 10 inputs. You have to update the firmware to currently ver. 2.0. Individual on/off switches and gain controls on the capsule. To enable the 48 volts for condenser mics, you have to plug in a micro-USB power cable to the top of the capsule.
