Based on my experience with the roll adapter on the P800 predecessor model, if you are careless the printer pulls the paper in and then rejects it, it doesn't matter how many times you try. Use long scissors (to minimize corners along the cut) and follow the printed guide line reasonably carefully and you'll have no troubles on the next feed. Note that for very large prints hanging off the end you will probably want to get help holding it straight to minimize tugging.

Yes, the P9000 can print on various lengths of paper.

No! This roll adapter is unique for the P900 only. For the P800 use this one MFR # C12C811431 if still available somewhere.

Are the dimensions available yet, now that it has been shipping? How much depth is needed behind the printer to attach it? And, can it hang off the edge of the table or does it need to rest on a support of some kind?
Being as there appeared to be conflicting information here and in other places I searched I decided to contact Epson Customer Service directly for their guidance on this topic. This is the response FROM EPSON:
"Thank you for contacting Epson regarding your Epson SureColor P900. It is my pleasure to respond to your inquiry.
The P900 Roll adapter does need to be supported by a flat surface as it is level with the base of the printer."
