Kase Rear ND Filter for Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon (6-Stop)
Key Features
  • 3.0 Optical Density
  • Tempered optical Glass
This Kase Rear ND Filter for Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon provides an exposure reduction of up to 6 stops. Its 1.8 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. The rear installation helps prevent vignetting, veiling glare, and reflections from affecting your image as the filter won't get directly hit by stray light. Neutral density filters are intended to not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

Kase ND Filter for Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Ar... Reviews

Wrong item and photo

Purchased this rear lens filter kit for my Sigma 14mm f1.4 The filters sent to me came with screws and a mounting plate which immediately told me that it was the wrong item. The Sigma 14mm f1.4 has a built in tab holder. It would seem that B&H keeps sending the wrong parts to everyone who orders, as I now see the same complaints in the reviews. The packaging also shows that this product is for the Canon mount. These filters are lacking the tab that gets inserted in the lens slot and get locked with the sliding tab on the opposite side. Trying my luck and Returning to sub it for the correct item. Please verify with a phone support person before ordering this item since it gets returned often.

So, these work, but...

First, yeah, the filters under this SKU don't match the pictures. You might look at those and think they fit into one or more types of Sigma rear filter holder -- THEY DO NOT. Kase ships its own filter adapter and you have to install that, and note, importantly, that you do not install it ON TOP of a previously installed Sigma rear filter holder. If you have this installed, remove it. Because the Kase adapter when loaded with a filter can trigger a shutter error if it is installed on top of a Sigma rear filter holder. The filters in this kit are U-shaped. I'm knocking a star off here for Kase cutting a corner because their filter holder ring is clearly drilled for use in other mounts, and when they ship this for a canon mount, they send it with three strips of thin double sided tape on one end. Yes, you are supposed to glue the adapter onto the rear element housing/ring. I can see how someone could install this incorrectly and have the filter break, potentially. I did not pay $150 to rely on tiny pieces of tape, and if you're gonna do that, at least send more than one set of extra tape pieces.
