The Sescom SES-TRRS-AB Passive 3.5mm TRRS A/B Switch with Ground Switching is a passive 3.5mm switcher box that makes it easy to switch between two different inputs/sources, or alternately, switch between two different outputs/devices. The unit lends itself to a wide range of uses, including switching your headset between a gaming system and a computer, or switching between mobile devices on your car stereo's input.
The SES-TRRS-AB accepts both TRRS and TRS connectors, allowing it to work with a wide array of common gear including mobile phones, headsets, earphones, gaming consoles, and other devices that can plug into the 3.5mm input jacks. Three input jacks are provided: an input/output jack and two device jacks labled A and B. The three-position switch (with center Off) allows you to route the input from the I/O jack to either the A or B output jacks, or alternatively, send either the A or B input to the I/O jack output.
The ABS chassis is compact and portable, and the device is passive, meaning it doesn't require power, cause signal degradation, or create any latency problems. The SES-TRRS-AB also elimininates noise and hum created by ground loops and can be cascaded for further switching. The discreet unit weighs only 2.2 ounces and is easily placed on a desktop, while hook-and-loop strips are provided for additional mounting options.
