It is designed specifically for use with the Celestron OAG to take full advantage of the large amount of light the apertures draw in and make sure you get full coverage on your camera's sensor to produce rich and bright images. The adapter has a long optical length of 38mm to give your DSLR the correct back-focus spacing in conjunction with the Off-Axis Guider, without the need for extra adapters or spacers. Made of lightweight and durable aluminum with an anodized finish, the exterior is knurled to make threading it on and removing it easy. The interior is sandblasted to help prevent glare and improve image contrast.

One piece, correct back focus for OAG for large SCTs

It is a one piece solution that is robust enough for almost any imaging train and camera. I makes the Celestron OAG easy to use and strong enough to remain in place. It allows a simple rotation capability and when set is solid. There may be better machined rotators, even motorized ones, but for me it is simple and it works. I don't do or need remote control, just set it and let it be.
