Very easy installation, you can configure the NVR by just using your phone and the unify app. It can work with other brand camera's as well but unify cameras connect automatically.

Yes, the Ubiquiti UNVR UniFi Protect NVR can work perfectly with Cat 5/6 cabling. Normally, you would connect a PoE switch as well to power and connect all your cameras to the NVR. The switch would also work with Cat 6 cables.

We have a unifi security gateway and ubiquiti switches, does it matter which devices connects to it? I know the Unifi Security gateway is not the newest tech, but it what we have.
Asked by: Jonathan
The Gateway should be at the top of the chain of devices. The switches can connect to the gateway. I also recommend a Cloud Key which will have the Unifi software built in to control devices.
