First time user. Loved the quality of the paper. Experimented with a photograph of a baseball game. Just wonderful detail. Only wish it came in a larger size!

I hoped this was The Answer.

I bought this very expensive heavy photo paper believing the advertising, and the ease of use in producing high quality works of art. I was disappointed in my first effort; these aren't exactly as cheap as many other types of photo paper. So I am staring at the box like a calf stares at a new gate. I did compare it to another product similar in nature, though unfavorably. Perhaps this is entirely my own fault, expecting perfection with my first attempt using Canon's Premium Fine Art Rough paper. I believe four stars is a fair review at this time. I will spend greater effort in trying to reach the perfection advertised with this brand of photo art paper. Canon just doesn't produce, nor sell' anything less than very high end products. I guess I will see.

is it the generally accepted experience that this paper doesn't make much difference unless used with pigment based and not dye based inks?

This Canon Premium Fine Art Rough Photo Paper (13 x 19", 25 Sheets) was designed to be used with Pigment based ink, as such you would see the best results there.

I use a Canon Pro 100 printer. Is this paper too heavy to pass through that printer?? Or, how do I get the printer to accept 85# paper?

This paper will work with a Canon PIXMA Pro 100. Please refer to your printer's user manual for all paper handling specifications.

The thickness of Canon Premium Fine Art Rough Photo Paper (13 x 19", 25 Sheets) is 21.5 mill. This paper cannot be used in the Canon PIXMA iP8720 Wireless Inkjet Photo Printer (B&H #CAIP8720) printer, as it has a maximum paper thickness allowance of 16.5 mil.

Can this paper be used for actual art media on top of printed photo? ie: watercolor over printed image? Is there 'tooth' to the paper texture, absorption characteristics?

Yes you can paint an image on the Canon Premium Fine Art Rough Photo Paper. It has a slightly rough matte surface making it suitable for painting or inkjet printing or both.

Can I use this paper with the Pixma ix6820? If so, which icc profile and settings should I use?

The Canon Premium Fine Art Rough Photo Paper (13 x 19", 25 Sheets) would not work with the Canon PIXMA iX6820 Wireless Inkjet Printer as it does not fall within the weight limitation of the iX6820, which is 28 lb.
