Easy to mount, don't spook birds as much!

I mainly got this as I noted that birds would spook with my zoom lens. It was easy to set up. Like other reviewers stated, you cannot add the piece for the moving part of the zoom unless you want this fixed. I mainly got this to not spook the birds and it is sufficient.
Watch out Lenscoat

This lens is hard to fit because of all the rotating pieces, but this cover does a great job. I bought it to replace the one by lenscoat (and get a darker color). It was designed with care, with cutouts so you can see the zoom setting and operate the switches directly instead of through clear plastic. I suppose the weather protection of the switches won't be as good, but operation is much easier. It is still slippery on the outside like lenscoat, so I will need to add rubber bands for better grip. It's a more thoughtful design and a better product, at a much better price.

The 100-400 contracts as the focal length is changed from 400-100. How does the barrel cover contract when the barrel becomes shorter?
The cover section for the extended barrel on the lens has velcro so you can easily remove it when you need to zoom in. This piece was designed to be used only when the lens is fully extended.
