Nomatic EDBK25 Reviews
Finally a pack that checks every box
I had been searching for the perfect backpack for my text every day carry for a couple of months and was hopeful that I could find the right one in the $100-150 range, but nothing was right. I finally allowed myself to look at the Nomadic, and you do truly get what you pay for in this pack. I am a fan of a pocket for every item rather than the tech pouches. This bag has that covered. In the main compartment, I carry a 16 MacBook Pro, 11 iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard, and a large notebook (3/4 thick and 8 1/2x11 pages), and there is plenty of room in the 9 smaller pockets for a large power bank, charging brick, cables, a mouse, and a variety of accessories. In the front pocket, another 7 pockets and 2 pen holders allow for additional tech accessories, pens, highlighters, tools, lens wipes, and spare charging cables. There is also a soft pocket on the top on the outside where I keep portable hard drives, two ample water bottle pockets, and a hidden pocket for some rainy-day cash. I have neatly organized everything I carry on the daily, and I still have 6 pockets empty and looking for more! Overall, I find this bag perfect for my needs. The straps are comfortable, and the loading is held close to your back, so it is comfortable for a long haul. If I need to, I can unzip an expansion slot on the main compartment and fit in a change of clothes. The only thing that I have found that is a downer is that the pack does not slide over the handle of a Pelican case. Pelican cases, for some reason, have wings at the top of their handles, and this slot in the bag for attaching it is too narrow to go over these wings. I see a Sawzall in my future to fix this one...
I have bought three of these for family members.
The front zipper is less than robust and will fail with use in about 2-3 years of daily use. The bag is perfectly designed and thought out with regard to pockets and places to store items. Overall a great back with only one flaw.
