Benro VX30 Two Series Arca-Type Aluminum Ball Head

I wanted to like it

I really like my Benro Mach3 tripod, but this ball head let me down. Build quality is ok, but my copy had the bubble level piece installed at an angle, rendering the pano feature useless. Finish is nice, it looks good and the knobs and ball operate smoothly. After being clamped down however, the first movement of the ball sticks a little, but it does clamp tightly without much effort. The safety feature of the Arca clamp is nice, but only if you're using a plate that isn't too wide. Otherwise it won't tighten enough to get to the locking position, which actually not only defeats the locking feature, but creates a potentially dangerous situation where it could suddenly loosen and you'd lose your camera! The Smallrig L bracket on my Nikon Z7 was too wide for the lock to work. I didn't trust it. These issues led me to return it.
