For this you may want to wrap the second lens with something like the Domke 15x15" Color Coded Protective Wrap (Blue) BH #DOPW15BL • MFR #722-15U or you could use it as a divider as you mention.

It seems like this may have been answered, but would it fit a mirrorless (Z7) with the 70-200 with lens hood?
It will fit but you will have to turn the foot to the side and the lens hood must be reversed. It's tight even after doing those steps. We recommend the Lowepro ProTactic TLZ 75 AW Convertible Camera Bag https://bhpho.to/3H3iEjN . You'll just have to reverse the lens hood to put it in the bag.
