Transcend DrivePro 10 Reviews

Overall very decent

I previously bought the Garmin Dash Mini over a year ago (the Garmin is technically a little bit smaller and a bit lighter than this (.29 oz vs .40 oz, IF I recall correctly) but this Transcend is still fairly small). For now I prefer this Transcend over the Garmin. Video image on the Transcend is noticeably a little bit sharper than the Garmin, even though there is definitely a bit of grain/noise on both of them, to be honest, but this is a touch clearer. Furthermore, one weird thing I was NEVER able to fix about the Garmin is that is ALWAYS records in one minute increments, and I have never been able to set it to say 3 or 5 minutes. With this Transcend, I was able to get it to 5 minutes per clips. Thirdly, the Garmin (both older model and newer one) is more expensive, by some $40 to $50. I would say that the phone app that you use to access / modify this thing is decent and I don't recall any problems, just as I didn't with the Garmin as well. It's worth mentioning that this unit does get kinda hot to the touch when in operation, just as the Garmin does. This is normal, as far as I can tell. (Note: the Garmin Mini I have is the older model, not the new one that came out more recently, keeping in mind the more recent Garmin may have indeed improved, so do some reading up before choosing).

great camera, adhesive mount is garbage

camera is great. adhesive area is too small. camera does not stay up in Texas heat. most of the dash cam brand have terrible adhesive mount. doesn't seem to improve with new model. all it needs is larger adhesive base.

After the car engine is switched on, the Transcend DrivePro 10 1080p Dash Camera with 32GB microSD Card BH #TRTSDP10A32G will automatically turn on and start recording. By default, one video file is saved for every one minute of recording. To adjust the recording length, go to Settings in the DrivePro app. After the car engine is switched off, the DrivePro will automatically save the current recording and power off. Note: Lighter sockets of some types of vehicles will still supply power after the car engine is turned off. If your car is of this type, please unplug your dashcam from the lighter socket to avoid unnecessary power consumption and unexpected issues. 4-2 Emergency Recording 30% of the storage space will be saved for emergency video files. Video files recorded in emergency mode are protected from being overwritten. Manual Event Recording: During video recording, press the emergency button on the side of the DrivePro to manually activate Emergency Recording. The LED indicator will start flashing (either red or blue) quickly. G-Sensor Event Recording: During video recording, the DrivePro will automatically activate Emergency Recording when detecting a collision.  If the G-Sensor sensitivity is set to “High”, even minor shocks will activate Emergency Recording mode.  If the G-Sensor sensitivity is set to “Low”, only significant shocks will activate Emergency Recording mode. G-Sensor sensitivity can be adjusted or disabled in Settings in the DrivePro app. Note: The earliest emergency file saved will be overwritten by the latest emergency file recorded once the 30% storage space is full The included 32GB memory card will yield about 9 hours of 1080p/60 video.
