Vloggers, mobile journalists, and run-and-gun videographers will appreciate the simple operation and quality sound of the Movo PhotoVXR10 PRO, an ultracompact, camera-mount shotgun microphone for DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, camcorders, smartphones, tablets, or portable audio recorders. This microphone plugs directly into your device through its 3.5mm connection. No batteries are required, and no settings need to be configured to get the mic to operate—just plug it in and it works.

This mic is the pro version of the VXR10. Compared to the standard VXR10, the VXR10 PRO sports higher sensitivity, increased signal-to-noise performance, extended frequency response, and a more directional supercardioid polar pattern that enables an enhanced and focused audio capture.  All of these facets result in a more polished, professional sound. The VXR10 PRO includes TRRS and TRS cables, a Rycote detachable shockmount, a foam windscreen, a furry windshield, and a carrying case.

Works with Multiple Devices
Use this microphone with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, smartphones, and audio recorders. Whether the device sports a TRS or TRRS connection, the necessary cable is included, as is a furry windscreen for getting a great sound outdoors, and a shoe shockmount from Rycote to reduce handling noise.
Easy to Use
This tiny microphone attaches to the included shoe shockmount, which in turn mounts on your device's shoe mount. It connects over a 3.5mm cable, either TRS to devices such as DSLR cameras, or TRRS to compatible smartphones. It's powered by the device, and requires no menu-diving to setup. Once you make the connection, you're simply good to go.

The VXR10 PRO offers a higher sensitivity (-36 dB), a wider frequency response (20 Hz to 18 kHz), and sharper directionality when compared to t the standard VXR10.
Built-In Monitoring
The mic houses a dedicated 3.5mm headphone port, enabling easy monitoring of the audio signal without disturbing the main output connection.

Considering its small size, it is a real winner. I really like the small size. Frequency response is great and with a small DSLR you have a compact footprint for run and gun situations. And it's terrific for table top. Yes, I'd recommend the VXR10. Lastly, a great price too!

Movo Photo VXR10 Pro works well on my Sony A6500. I use the viewfinder and find the back of the mic gets in my way. Using a cage corrects this but makes the system too large for casual shooting. The sound quality is excellent and not having to worry about batteries is great. For the price, this is as good as it gets.

I not a big fan of the TRRS to TRS cable that connects to the camera. Can anyone recommend a coiled cable that would work?

For a coiled TRRS to TRS cable, you can use the Rode SC7 (B&H # ROSC7) or the Saramonic SR-PMC2 (B&H # SASRPMC2).

What angle does this pick up sound from?

This compact microphone has a supercardioid polar pattern, so sound comes into the front of the mic and is cancelled around the sides. Supercardioid microphones are very directional and most sensitive to on -axis sounds, where the mic points. This type of mic is good for capturing dialogue when fairly close to a subject, and can also be used as an on-camera mic for general audio with video.

Is the line out supposed to be a mic out instead? ...

Is the line out supposed to be a mic out instead? Reason why I am asking is because I want to plug it into a Rode Wireless Go, and I don't want to blow the receiver. If it's indeed a line out, the signal might be too hot I assume.

It does seem odd that the main audio output on the VXR10 PRO would be labeled as a "line" output when the audio output signal is mic level. It is most likely just improper translation from Chinese to English. The instruction manual and product photos show it as the proper output to use when connecting the VXR10 PRO to the mic input on cameras and recorders. Since the primary output on a microphone is a mic level audio signal and the mic inputs on a camera and recorder typically require mic level signal, it seems that the label on the VXR10 PRO is creating confusion since the signal delivered is a mic level audio signal. The headphone output does provide an actual line level signal.

Is mic compatible with Fuji x100v? If "yes", what kind of cable do I need to purchase?

Yes, the Movo Photo VXR10 is compatible for use with a Fuji X100V camera. You can use a cable with 3.5mm TRS and 2.5mm TRS end such as the Beachtek SC25 3.5mm to 2.5mm TRS Output Cable (B&H #BESC25) to connect the mic to the camera's 2.5mm input.

What angle does this microphone pick up? Can it handle two people on a couch a few feet away from the mic?

The Movo Photo VXR10 PRO Shotgun Microphone picks up sound from the from the front in a supercardioid pattern, which is narrow and very focused. If the two subjects are sitting very close to each other, the mic should be able to capture audio from both people without any problems.

Will this mic compatible with Behringer X Air 18? Maybe with trs to xlr adapter? If yes, does it need the phantom power? And what adapter is recommended?

No. This mic requires "plug in" power, it will not work with phantom power. It is designed for use with cameras and cell phones.
