Described by Princeton Tec as the grandfather of the family, the Fred Headlamp gives you two levels of white light and two levels of red, in a compact, lightweight, easy-to-operate design. Choose between 6 and 45 lumens of white light in a broad flood beam for general use. Red settings of 1 and 5 lumens are ideal for performing tasks without disrupting night-acclimated vision (or people sleeping nearby.) The Fred runs on three widely available AAA batteries, weighs just 2.8 ounces, and carries an IPX4 water-resistance rating, so a sudden shower or an unexpected lawn sprinkler won't cause a problem.
