Having now used the new P900 machine for seven weeks, I am getting a handle on ink consumption. The 50 ml (1.7 oz) cartridges support a lot of printing, but this Light Gray ink goes down considerably faster than anybody else. At this point, the printer has churned out 25-30 16x20s, 20-25 11x14s and a couple dozen 8x10s. Six of the starter cartridges have been replaced, four remain but are very low, and Light Gray has been replaced twice. I’ve included a screen shot of the utility’s status page today. I’ve been doing some rough tracking of ink consumption using levels reported from time to time and area printed, and so far, printing at max quality I am coming up with about two cents per square inch, which might be a little less for users in lower-sales-tax states compared to California. Printing with “normal quality” might improve that. I would be distressed by that number, I guess, except that the print quality is outstanding.

These cartridges will not fit the Epson SureColor P700. The correct ink for the P700 is Epson 770.

How many prints can this kit do?

It all depends on the paper size, the amount of each color on a print, the density, & white back ground. Even Canon can't disclose that info. The only way you might get an estimate is by using it for a while & based on the print size & style you might get some idea. Lets face fact: The inks are quite large (50 ml) & consider the quality of the prints you get out of this printer actually become priceless in value.

how many square footage of image can each ink cartridge cover?

There is no clear cut answer for this question, even Epson can't give you a definite answer. The reason is that it all depends on the density of the image & how much of each color is on the print. In general these 50ml inks are much larger & better cost per print compared to the cheaper smaller printers. Here is the thing, if your shots are great & you know how to utilize the printer the value of the prints will pay off by far.

What is the difference between Photo Black and Matte Black? When printing B&W photos which one or which ones are used? What about for color prints?

When printing on glossy, semi-gloss and satin print surfaces, the Epson automatically defaults to Photo Black, and back to Matte Black when printing onto matte surfaces.

I've never received ANY ink cartridges for my SP9890 that had less than 1 year until the expiration date. Your mileage may differ. With all the supply chain issues, I'm sure that B&H is doing their best to get us fresh ones.

When the cartridge finishes, there is usually some ink left in the line and will finish the print job. However, it will likely not allow you to print another job after that.
