Sometimes it is soft, usually resetting the USB fixes it. Take care with the wires where they attach.

I have a Lenovo 720-18IKL with Windows 10. Will this web cam work just by plugging into a USB connector?
I built my wife's computer but I don't believe the hardware will make a difference. You will be using a USB interface. The camera arrived in a box with no instructions but it did have a USB connector so I plugged it in to an available USB port. Her Windows OS is Windows 10 Pro. The system picked it up and when we launched Zoom for example it recognized the camera. The picture and sound are very good. I would recommend this camera.
