Celestron CPC 1100 GPS (XLT) 279 mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope
Key Features
  • 279mm (11") Schmidt-Cassegrain OTA
  • 2800mm Focal Length, f/10 Focal Ratio
  • StarBright XLT Optical Coating System
  • Integrated 16-Channel GPS Receiver
Representing the largest aperture in the series and combining light-gathering power with ease of use, the Celestron CPC 1100 GPS (XLT) 279mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope provides users with an optical tube and mount for near- and deep-space observation and astrophotography. Optically, it features a Schmidt-Cassegrain light path consisting of a corrector plate, a spherical primary mirror, and a secondary mirror. Complementing the optical system is the proprietary StarBright XLT optical coating system that improves light transmission and reflectivity across the entire visual spectrum. The combination of optical components and the StarBright XLT system produces bright and clear high-resolution images with true color rendition across the entire field of view with minimal distortion, aberrations, or off-axis comas.

Does this celestron have edge technology and is adaptable to quality astrophotography?
Asked by: CHARLES
The CPC 1100 GPS (XLT) comes with standard Schmidt-Cassegrain optics and does not include the field-flattening elements found in the "EdgeHD" series. However, the telescope is capable of producing stunning astrophotography images.

The Edge HD series has better optics and a flatter field. In this comparison, the Celestron CPC 1100 GPS (XLT) has GPS built in and a larger tube than the CPC Deluxe 925 HD 9.25" f/10 Cassegrain GoTo AZ telescope.
