This EF-Z2 Autofocus Speed Booster Adapter from Viltrox allows a Canon EF lens to be used on a Nikon Z camera body. A 0.71x optical multiplier is built into the unit, and the electronic contacts are gilded with pure copper. Electronic communication between the camera and lens is supported, enabling autofocus. With some lenses, maximum focusing range maybe affected as the distance from the lens to the camera's sensor is slightly changed, and there is a 1-stop increase for the camera over the lens's aperture range. Additionally, the functions of some lenses are not fully available depending on the camera body. A USB Port is provided for firmware upgrades, and a 1/4"-20 tripod socket on the bottom of the adapter allows for tripod mounting.

It's is OK to used with Nikon DSLR. Don't buy if you plan to use it with Nikon Z mirrorless, all you can see is a round circle in the focal plane. Also, you can't connect adapter to PC to upgrade firmware. Your PC will not recognize it whatsoever.

Requesting HELP!!!
I bought Viltrox EF-Z2 expecting to adapt Canon EF mount lenses like (Canon 50mm f1.4 as well as Sigma 18-35 F1.8 Art) on my Z6 and Z6 II. Unfortunately, neither of these lenses are being detected when it is connected via Viltrox adapter. The same lenses are working well on Canon bodies without any issue. I did update firmware of camera as well as Viltrox adapter with no luck to get it working.
Question is, why lenses are not detected or the f number is not displayed (shows - -f) on Z6 & Z6 II?
Expecting early response on this.
These issues come up a lot as Nikon has been aggressively releasing new firmware updates with new features and adapter manufacturer's like Viltrox cannot keep up. Viltrox would need to release a new firmware update that would make it work with the latest firmware in Nikon. Many users need to use the lens in manual focus manual exposure when an issue like this occurs or if it is within the return period, return the adapter.

How can 0.71x speedbooster cover a full frame sensor when used with EF lens? This sounds like an adapter designed for APS-C
The Viltrox EF-Z2 Autofocus Speed Booster Adapter for Canon EF Lens to Nikon Z Camera does not cover the full frame sensor. It can be used with crop sensor cameras such as a Nikon ZFC or with a full frame camera such as a Z6II set to DX mode.

will this cover a ff sensor or is it meant to be used with like the z50, ie thinking the sigma ef mount (apsc) 18-35mm 1.8 adapted to a z5/6/7 ?
This adapter only accept EF lenses and will cover a full frame sensor as found on the Nikon Z5, Z6/Z6II and Z7/Z7 II bodies.

I have a Canon EF-S 10 - 22mm zoom lens. Will it work with the Viltrox EF-Z2 Adapter?
This adapter seems to be EF lens only, as there is no mounting point for an EF-S lens. This is usually indicated by a white square on the adapter as opposed to the red dot. An adapter that takes both EF and EF-S would have both indicators.

Only asking because meta ones is extremely expensive. But will this work for a black magic 4K . I'm looking to mount the sigma 18-35 lens/Canon EF
This is not the adapter you're looking for. The one you want to get is this one here.
