It's all about speed with the FUJIFILM XF 50mm f/1.0 R WR; a portrait-length prime lens featuring an impressive and unique f/1.0 maximum aperture. This bright design benefits working in low-light conditions and, especially coupled with the short tele focal length, also affords immense control over depth of field for isolating subject matter with selective focus. Beyond just speed, the 50mm f/1.0 is also characterized by an advanced optical system aspherical and extra-low dispersion elements to control a variety of aberrations. A Super EBC coating also suppresses flare and ghosting for greater contrast when working in bright and backlit conditions. Additionally, complementing the optics is a fast-performing DC autofocus motor and a robust physical design that is weather-sealed to suit working in trying environmental conditions.

FUJIFILM XF 50mm f/1.0 R WR Reviews
Take your time...
For a long time I had the Fuji 56mm lens which was okay but always hated standing too far away from my subjects. So finally traded it in for the 50mm 1.0 lens. This is a lens that is perfect for someone wanting to take their time with each shot (not ideal for moving objects if shooting at 1.0). The photos do pop more so than with other lenses. Yes it is a large heavy lens but I did not notice this while using it. Take your time with your photos and you will truly be pleased with this lens.
first class lens, great at low light, best bokeh ever
I recently photographed a New Year's Eve dragon run at midnight..no moon, only two distant streetlights, no flash. 63 shots, 62 keepers, all sharp, great color, etc. I have been shooting since 1963, with Leica, Hassy, 4x5, minolta, sony, Lumix, fuji and others, and this is one of the sharpest lenses I've ever used. Note: one element's coatings in my first copy did not hold up so great after about a year, sent it to Fuji who tuned it and returned it in A1 condition at no cost despite being lightly out of warranty. I could not ask for better customer service.
