Value option for Manfrotto stands, but requires a drill

These were a value option compared to the Manfrotto wheels. However there are two things you should know.
1. The wheels are actually blue. (see my photo) B&H's photo doesn't truly represent the product. The photo online looks like they are grey.
2. They use a wedge to apply pressure to the light stand leg leg. That wedge has a registration post that probably fits perfectly on an IMPACT brand stand, but the Bogen / Manfrotto hole is smaller and if you want to use these wheels you are going to have to drill out your Bogen stands hold to 1/4 inch. Was very simple to do.
The reviews about the wheels rotating on the stand I suspect are people that aren't using the wedge. I don't see a way for that to occur if you are using it properly and have good tension. I use pretty heavy monolights and 5ft Octa's on mine with no issues.
Yes, it holds up and the casters will not flip around.

I have both, the 22mm and 25mm.
The Impact Locking 3-Caster Set for 22mm Legs, to some extent, I agree that the casters will shift around, even if you tighten it as some reviewers reported. So, now it’s my turn to try these.
In this review, I will be happy to provide you the solution for it. PLEASE see the pictures I included in this review as they are an illustration of the solution I came up with and showing the casters in action, loaded. You might have to see them using a Desktop browser at the BH website.
Upon closely inspecting the entire item, The shifting / swinging issue was simply the fact that the metal silvered part that touches the tripod or light stand, its finish is rather too polished /smooth and to make the matter worse, most stands are usually a slippery glossy finish.
Here’s the 1 cent solution: NO DRILLING NECESSARY on your light stand or any modifications on it.
Simply put a SMALL piece Gaffer’s Tape covering just the part of that silver plate located inside the caster’s receiving hole that touches the stand’s legs. (See pictures included). There is no need to gaffer the light stand’s legs either. Leave that alone. Don’t cover the entire piece so the Gaffer’s tape won’t interfere, ONLY the part that will touch the stand pole where you insert it into the caster.
Then, go ahead and tighten as you would. It will HOLD in place and there will be no unwanted swiveling around anymore.
I’m pretty sure the manufacturer will see this review and they will probably add 3 nice little grip self mini adhesive textured pads, probably similar to something sandy in future packagings with this item and much better than just the Gaffer’s Tape, which already solves the issue.
Now, since that’s out of the way, the caster themselves are of great quality, the ball bearings don’t rotate all over the place. The tightening knobs, although the knob part is made of plastic, it is well made and as you tighten, it gives the feel of a good grip as you tighten and that it will not break apart, unless you excessively over tighten which is not needed as you could crush the light stand’s legs from so much pressure. Just tighten everything snuggly enough and stop.
To finally test this casters, I placed a decently heavy load, a Godox LD150R 2X1 Panel, which is heavier than most flashes or COB chip LED units you would load with these.
Conclusion:
Minus the slight 30 second install gaffer tape “inconvenience” (as it is for now), I’m happy with this item. And as a product tester, but also a BH customer just like you for everything else, just because I've got a copy of the item to review, I have the freedom to give a review any star rating.
In this case, I’m not going to reduce to 4 or 3 starts, because to fix this minor issue, it literally took me just 10 seconds and cost me nothing.
I recommend this item. And for some reason, if it still doesn’t work for you, BH customer satisfaction will be always here to assist with anything you need.
