Ideal for biological students and microscopy enthusiasts, the Levenhuk 320 Plus 40-1600x Monocular Microscope is powered by three included rechargeable AA batteries that allow you to take it into the field for up to 10 hours of on-the-ground research, or you can run it for extended times in the lab or classroom using the 230 VAC power/charging plug.
Its monocular head is set at a comfortable 30° angle to the body for a natural viewing position and can rotate a full 360° to make sharing the view among lab partners and colleagues simple and easy. It comes with a 10x wide-field eyepiece that, when combined with the objectives, produces magnifications from 40x to 1000x—making it ideal for viewing a wide variety of specimens, including thin cross sections, pond life, or skin and fur parasites. You also get a second 16x wide field eyepiece that pushes the maximum magnification up to 1600x and is equipped with an in-view pointer that is ideal for teaching purposes that allows the instructor to easily point out specific features. Levenhuk includes a vial of immersion oil for use with the 100x objective.
Its dual-speed coaxial focuser features coarse and fine adjustments to ensure views are tack sharp. A large stage has integrated slide holders that can be used with one hand to make changing slides fast. The lower 0.75W LED illuminator has a rheostat to control the intensity and is directed through an 1.25 Abbe condenser with a simple iris diaphragm that gives you extreme control of the light coming through to the stage. The condenser can be moved up and down to achieve the optimum amount and quality of light to the specimen. You also get a set of removable filters that allow you to change the light color to enhance views and contrast without having to dye the specimen.
