Will this record video to an external SSD like a Samsung T drive?
Unfortunately, according to Sony, you would not be able to use an SSD external hard drive such as the Samsung T Drive as an external recorder. You would need to connect an external recorder to the HDMI output on the Sony Alpha a7C Mirrorless Digital Camera, while the Samsung T Drive uses USB-C ports on the hard drive.

Is it possible to record on the card in the camera while at the same time running an hdmi cable to a monitor?
Yes. After testing it for myself to confirm, the Sony A7C can record while outputting to an external monitor with some caveats. Firstly, in 4K it is limited to 24p and will disable the LCD when recording in 30p. Secondly, you have to make sure "HDMI Info. Display" (in the HDMI settings page in your camera menu) is set to OFF.

Hi Frank, that is correct you can use APS-C lenses on the body and they will be in crop sensor mode.

Question regarding A7C vs A7IV purchase? I'm a small business owner and sell products on my Etsy store. Currently I use my iPhone to take product photos but I want to get a Sony camera. I need something that can take great product photos along with videos since many online retailers are now including videos of the products. I was thinking of initially getting the A7SIII but decided against it due to my photography needs. I thought about waiting and purchasing the A7IV later this year, but now considering the A7C. Which camera would you recommend for a small online business that sells handmade jewelry, home goods, and artworks/cards/prints? Would an A7C suffice, or should I just wait for the A7IV?
For that type of use A7C is enough. The only downside of the A7C is that it has only one card slot, but for that type of use it shouldn't be a problem. Instead of getting a more expensive camera I would get a macro lens, a great tripod and head, high quality led lights with a softbox would make a much bigger difference in getting high quality photos and videos than purchasing a more expensive camera than the A7c.

Does the A7C have improved 1080p quality compared to the A7III?
The Video quality is nearly identical between the Sony Alpha a7C and a7 III. The differences in vide will be in other aspects of shooting. The a7C has an unlimited record time while the a7 III has a recording limit of 29 Minutes. The a7C adds the flip out screen, newer focusing algorithms and the ability to save gyro information.
