Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 17mm f/0.95 Reviews

sweet, artistic, substantial

Makes a fun addition to my kit. I love being able to open it up to keep ISO down when shooting in marginal light, though of course focus can be a problem when pushing the envelope. Speaking of focus, with focus peeking, it's pretty quick and intuitive, and slows you down enough that it connects you to the art of photography again. I don't mind the lack of clicks in the aperture ring, personally. Optically, yes, at f/0.95 it's pretty soft, and even stopped down it's soft in the corners, so keep the primary elements in your composition close to the center. It is heavy, though - I'm not sure I'll have it with me when I need it.

I bought this lens on the back of several reviews on YouTube. I was not disappointed. I have been able to take pictures in low light without much difficulty and recently created a video of a local folk group during a nighttime performance. Very little noise and lovely crisp pictures/video. I haven't taken it off the camera since I bought it as it is such a delight to work with. Would highly recommend it to anyone as it is incredibly priced for the quality you get.

The Fujifilm cameras use a different mount than the one on this lens. This would not mount directly on the Fujifilm cameras. This is also designed for a smaller size sensor. We do not have any lens adapters to adapt Micro Four Thirds Lenses to the Fujifilm X mount.

At F/0.95 the depth of field is very thin. How difficult is it to focus?

The Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 17mm f/0.95 Lens for Micro Four Thirds is easy to focus despite the limited depth of focus range. Plus most cameras have manual focusing aids to help ensure a sharp manual focus.
