Bright f/1.8 maximum aperture suits working in difficult lighting conditions and also offers increased control over depth of field for isolating subjects and working with selective focus.
Two high refractive index elements reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater clarity and color rendering.

A Really Nice Lens - Reasonably Priced

For an inexpensive 35mm lens, this thing is really sharp. You would have to spend 3X as much to get better. A little bit of distortion on the outer-most edges and some very slight chromatic aberration on high contrast areas but both are super simple to correct in Lightroom. I love this lens for street photography - gives a nice out of focus background at f1.8. You get way more lens than the price would suggest.

Samyang manufacturers both the Samyang and Rokinon versions of this lens. Rokinon is their US-regional distributor and Samyang is the Korean manufacturer. Both versions of the lens will function exactly the same! :)

The Rokinon AF 35mm f/1.8 FE Lens for Sony E does have autofocus. You might be referring to image stabilization that it does not have. The image stabilizer in the Sony A7iv will work with the lens attached to that camera.
