Haida NanoPro CPL Circular Polarizing Filter (100 x 100mm)
Key Features
  • 100 x 100mm Circular Polarizer Filter
  • 2.5x Filter Factor, +1.3 Stops
  • For 100 x 100mm Filter Holders
  • Helps Eliminate Reflections and Glare
The NanoPro CPL Circular Polarizing Filter from Haida is made for 100 x 100mm filter holders and helps reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from nonmetallic surfaces. Sunlight becomes partially polarized by reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter and appear as haze. A polarizing filter arranges and filters this directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing much of the light to be absorbed. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, making it an essential tool for landscape photography. A circular polarizer contains an additional quarter wave plane than a linear polarizer to further circularly polarize the filtered light for compatibility with contemporary autofocus and exposure functions.

Haida NanoPro CPL Overview

This filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity and color fidelity. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes 10 layers of antireflection coatings, and the Nano coating provides an additional layer of protection, providing a beading effect with water or oil, allowing for more efficient cleaning.

Helps reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a nonmetallic surface.
Polarizing filters arrange and filter directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of the light.
Clears up haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated and vivid colors.
The strongest effect manifests when used at a 90° angle from the sun.
Circular polarizers are ideal for use with digital cameras and autofocus lenses, whereas a linear polarizer will often disrupt autoexposure and autofocus features.
The 2.5x filter factor reduces exposure by 1.3 stops.
Multi-coated to prevent internal ghosting and reflections.
Constructed from optical glass for clarity.

I bought this for an attachment that goes on my iPhone. Since it didn’t cost that much I wasn’t sure it would work. That is, I wasn’t sure it would get rid of reflections. It worked beautifully and I’m quite happy with it. It’s a good brand to begin with.

Tough Rotation

I would give this a 4 or even a 5 star since it does what any decent polarizer is supposed to do. However, once secured to the lens, it is difficult to rotate and doesn't have the precise machining as a B+W filter. Decent for the price, but maybe consider an upgrade first.

What is the technical difference between the Haida Slim Pro II & Haida NanoPro Circular Polarizer Filters?
Asked by: Marc
This Haida NanoPro MC Circular Polarizer has the Nano coating which provides an additional layer that results in an improved beading effect when the surface comes in contact with water or oil, allowing for more efficient cleaning. And it has side knurlings to provide a more textured grip when mounting or removing it from a lens. The Haida Slim Pro II Circular Polarizer does not have the Nano coating or knurling but it is thinner and less likely to vignette when using a wide angle lens.
