For position tracking, there are two front-facing cameras and two side-facing cameras, as well as internal sensors, so the G2 is able to track more of your arm movements. You can increase the cushion size for even weight distribution, resulting in a more comfortable fit. The cable is now longer (19.69'), thinner, and lighter, so you have more freedom to move around.

HP Reverb G2 Reviews

Headset is great, hand controllers could be better

Picture is good, sound is excellent. As many say there's more clarity in the center of the display than the edges. The cable locks into the headset with a retention mechanism. Seems secure. The hand controllers are a bit small in the hand, and the fov of the headset means that sometimes they lose tracking. It is possible to accidentally cause the battery covers to slip off when gripping the controllers firmly. Also small hand controllers make it more challenging to aim weapons, and pulling triggers is harder to do with long fingers. The headset fitting and ergonomics are excellent, including the nose cover. Even my large nose fits comfortably. I've worn it for 2-3 hours without issue.

The poor lenses let down the great screens.

Great screens, but the lenses leave a lot to be desired. The sweet spot that is in focus at any given time is a pretty small area right in the center. Clarity much better than the other headsets in this price range, but boy do I wish I could afford something better. It will have to do for now.

It's amazing and i love it but cable died in less that 5 months :( , i really wish there is a 3rd party cable or a standard cable to use instead of being locked to HP cable :(

The display on the Reverb G2 is excellent and the head tracking is near perfect. I haven't had many issues with these features and have no complaints in their regard... HOWEVER, the tracking of the controllers is terrible, and extremely frustrating to deal with. I also commonly run into issues where software designed for VR doesn't seem to have compatibility with these controller mappings, which is also extremely frustrating to deal with. All in all, there is room for much improvement, but a fair effort at the price you pay.

Works with Beat Saber

Reverb G2 is great so far. No issues. I bought some ceiling hooks so I could put the cord out of my way. I've heard it can't track well for Beat Saber - well this is wrong, as the tracking is phenomenal and I've been playing Beat Saber a lot with it.
