Anton/Bauer Titon Base Reviews

Not worth the price.

Hella expensive for what you get. You need to buy at least two to swap in and out - battery burns extreemly fast depending on the set up. This does not come with a charger which is insane for the price.

Great power choice for FX3

Powers the camera and external monitor for 5 to 6 hours straight. It's a nice alternative to charging and hauling a bag of the original batteries.

Lots of power for FX3

Great battery that makes working with the fx3 a lot easier. The only improvement I would be if it had power ports on more than just one side.

Wanted to love this

Great concept, but battery doesn't last very long, but worse is the plastic connection. It's fine for a really controlled environment, but for run-and-gun I would have no confidence in the connection. I use it mounted under Sony FX3, and connect camera internal battery as well as Small HD 5 Ultra Bright Monitor.

Battery fits perfect with my black magic 4K setup. Running the camera, an LED light and a monitor using all three D-taps. Love it.

Perfect for the FX3

This battery is perfect for the Sony FX3. I use it to power my monitor with a dummy battery and the Sony FX3 itself with trickle charge through the USB port. But the best part is that it puts the weight where I want it- on the bottom of the camera instead of up on the monitor, making it easier to shoot a stable image while using a top handle. Plus, it gives me hours of worry-free recording time.

Nice but didn't last long

I love these batteries, but lately it's causing my camera to shut off and the USB port was smoking the other day. I can't trust this battery anymore and I've had it for a year.

This will not power either of my Canon R5s. It works with the Atomos Ninja V and the Sony A7Siii. I have the right dummy battery cable for the Canons. Is there something else I need to do to get this to work?
Asked by: David
OK i discovered that you need to pull up the small flap on the R5, which allows you to thread the dummy battery cable through and to close the battery compartment door on the R5. The camera will not power up, even with the dummy battery installed and the cable plugged into the Anton Bauer battery - if the R5 battery compartment door is open or removed. Once I figured this out, it worked fine with the R5.

According to Anton Bauer for the Anton Bauer 68Wh Titon Base Battery: "When the battery is sitting idle (no load is applied) the LCD will show remaining capacity as percentage of full.", "When the battery is powering an item (a load is applied), the LCD will display remaining run-time in Hours/Minutes." https://bit.ly/3ovafOR

Two questions. One, does this have power output high enough to power an Atomos Ninja Flame? Two, can you charge it while it is in use, say while the camera is on a tripod during a shoot?
Asked by: Joshua
There should be no issues in powering the Atomos Ninja Flame with this, although we would not recommend charging this while in use.
