I purchased this sliding rack shelf to use in a client's rack for track playback equipment. The rack will be moved from gig to gig quite a bit, so the shelf needs to be sturdy and well-built. I was not disappointed! The material is heavy gauge, and the slides operate smoothly. Adhesive Velcro sticks solidly to the shelf. Highly recommended!
Almost great but mine squeaks

Something rubs when I slide mine in and out, which makes a terrible squeaking noise. Hopefully, it just needs some lubrication. Otherwise, it is excellent as it gives you a wider sliding shelf than most other options that don't make you lose a whole rack space for the shelf. I wish I didn't need to go to the effort of solving this squeaking issue. I'll have to return it if a little oil doesn't solve the issue, which is, of course, a pain.

No it does not lock but there is a slight snap or pop when the Adam Hall AH-87555 is all the way closed or pulled out.
