Proaim P-BPDP Overview

The 19mm Studio Bridge Plate with ARRI-Style Dovetail from Proaim offers 19mm rod support for camera accessories. This aluminum baseplate system consists of a bridge plate and a 10" ARRI-standard dovetail plate. The bridge plate features a center plate that can be flipped from ARRI standard height to RED standard camera height.

The bridge plate includes both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 camera screws, and the dovetail incorporates both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tripod threads. The bridge plate also features a quick release lever, and the dovetail plate features safety catches on both ends.

The way the holes are tapped is so weird. Makes mounting extremely difficult. Just avoid it and go with another solution.

Seems professional, but rod mount jammed almost immediately

I like what this is trying to be. It feels well-built, for the most part. It's made of metal, locks in place adequately and slides with ease. My problem, which I hope is unique, is that I set the camera up once, and I've just tried to set it up again to check compatibility of a new piece and the left rod mount is jammed in place without a rod inside, so I can't get a rod into it. It won't pry open and I even took the screw out to try to relieve tension and tried to pry it open again, but nothing has worked. The price is right, but this may be a lower quality approach to a dovetail-bridgeplate rod system. Hopefully that's not the case and there is something wrong with this particular unit only, but I will have to replace it.

Yes. The following unit offers a 10" ARRI-standard Dovetail Plate and as well can be flipped for ARRI or RED Height.

The Proaim 15mm Studio Bridge Plate with ARRI-Style Dovetail's (10") base plate must be slid onto the ARRI-Style Dovetail.

Is there a bracket to step the 15mm version which seems to be wide to a standard 60mm width 15mm bracket for accessories?

The Proaim 15 mm Studio Bridge Plate with ARRI-Style Dovetail (10") does have 15 mm studio spacing. The close alternate with LWS spacing is the following model. Proaim 19/15mm Baseplate with ARRI-Style Dovetail BH #PRCHDTPQ01 or Proaim 15mm Universal Bridge Plate with Arca-Swiss Core Plate BH #PRQRUD15
