Worth it, one small annoyance

I’ve been eyeing this for about a year and finally recently bought it for an indoor/outdoor shoot. Pros: Easily transitioned from being on a light stand in tight quarters inside, to dismounting and stacking it onto my cart to roll around outside to the second half of the shoot. The ease of transition helped save time. The hood was more than sufficient to help me and the team see the screen outside, only needing the secondary visor in moments of direct sunlight. The knobs and clamps to secure things are quick and easy. Con: The hood frame is a tad fussy. It’s like setting up a tent, and it takes a moment to get all of the structural rods in place. In particular, the connection between the rod and the nub that connects to the cheese-late could get knocked loose. It’s all connected by an elastic string and was never a major problem. I’m hopeful some two-part epoxy will fix things. Final thoughts: No regrets. Mouse tray is better as a secondary surface, but I like enough to use it. Everything is durable, and I’m glad to finally have a hood that is as nimble as I need it to be.
