Dedicated to the Canon Speedlite EL‑1, the LP-EL is a lithium-ion battery pack offering reliable power and quick flash performance. When fully charged, it supports flash recycle times of approximately 0.9 seconds, offers around 335 full-power flashes per charge, and its charge level can be checked on the flash's display. It can be recharged via the separate LC-E6 battery charger.

I have purchased 6 of these for my flashes and 5 of them have failed in less than a year. They often start out great then will start to loose charge quickly. I use only canon charging blocks and flashes. I have been a canon customer for almost 30 years and have owned most of what they make. I love the flashes but hate these batteries.
I used it for a 3 hour event and it worked perfectly.
