Designed for desktop use, it features a large color touchscreen to easily select scan destinations and access settings and shortcuts, and you can connect to your computer using the included Superspeed+ USB cable or through a Wi-Fi network. A 60-sheet automatic feeder automatically accepts documents up to 8.5 x 14", and a long document scanning mode enables scan sizes up to 8.5 x 118". For letter-size documents the scanner has a fast simplex scan speed of 40 ppm, and duplex scan speeds are an equally impressive 80 ipm.
The imageFORMULA R50 includes Canon CaptureOnTouch scanning software, and with this powerful software you can enhance scanned text, rotate images to the proper orientation, straighten skewed images, automatically adjust output resolution, remove blank pages, and more. The scanner also reliably handles many different media types, individually or in batches, including passports, receipts, photos, business cards, plastic or embossed cards, reports, contracts, long documents, and thick or thin documents. Paper documents can be converted to many digital formats, including searchable PDF or JPG, and they can also be organized and stored in a folder or in cloud services including Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
