Tenba Tools Memory Foam Shoulder Pad Reviews
Great Shoulder Strap Pad
I pair this Tenba shoulder pad to my big 8L sling bag with 1.5 width of strap to carry camera gears, and it works fantastic. Slimmer in width (2.25 width is much more appropriate than other similar products with around 2.5-2.75 of width) with thick and comfortable padding make it a great relief for my shoulder when wearing the bag for longer time. I also like the anti-slid materials at the bottom of the pad helping it to stay on my shoulder without moving around. I like this shoulder strap pad so much so I have already bought another 1.5 version for my Bellroy sling bag. Highly recommended!
Doesn't slide off my shoulder
I didn't think the description for this pad (or its competition) gave me a comfortable (sorry) idea of how well it would stay put on my shoulder. So.... The pad consists of four squares, each about 2x2 by about 5/8 thick, with an overall length of 8 1/2 to 9 inches. The pads are some sort of slow recovery foam (memory foam). The bottom is made of what I would describe as a rough rubber-coated fabric. It sticks nicely to the various fabrics I tried it with. (I hate it when you bend over and the bag tries to slide off your shoulder.) I have hung the bag from my forearm while juggling too much stuff and while the pad didn't feel like something from Victoria's Secret, it didn't tear my skin off either. It was fine. It seems to conform well to my trout-like shoulder. How long it will keep bag ache at bay is an open question. The longest I've used it so far is only about an hour and a half. And not with a killer heavy bag. But so far, so good. I can't speak for the other pads here because I haven't tried them. I can compare this pad to the Domke postman's pads that I have been using for decades. This one is lighter, stickier, more squishy, and symmetrical, so you can put your bag strap on either shoulder. Bottom line: This pad seems perfectly satisfactory and the price is reasonable. Next time I need supplies, I'll be putting two more of these on the order.
