Smith-Victor Thrifty Cordset Reviews

Needs a relector for secure clamping

Just so you know, this is an old-school photo floodlamp fixture. The clamp is intended to clamp onto a reflector such as Smith-Victor 10 Thrifty Reflector , NOT the lamp socket. You can put the clamp on the socket, but it is slippery and prone to falling off. I have a screw-in 3-panel LED light in the socket, so the clamp is captured, but it is wobbly. The outfit replaces one crushed in a garage accident. It was 50 years old. If you are using a classic refector, there is no danger of crushing the socket, or the light wandering. The reflector threads onto the front of the socket. I have it on the Impact Air-Cushioned Light Stand (Black, 8') BH# WHWBCSC , a very nice stand for my application. very portable, works great in a pinch

Just a socket with a spring clamp.. does what it's supposed to. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of mine. Works with any normal household bulb mount.
