The tips you insert into the recorder's receptacles are short, as they are removed from the talent; these may fall off. Since they are plasticized, when hitting a hard floor, you can't hear they they’re on the ground. I've bent the tip of the steel slightly to create a hook shape. It reduces losses. Not perfect yet. Out of the 6 field recorders I work with, none have the original belt clip.
