The DJI Ronin Expansion Base Kit allows you to mount the DJI RS 2 gimbal on a jib, car, slider, cable cam, or other support and control it remotely over 16.4' control cables. The kit features a tethered control handle for extended wired control of gimbal movement plus camera focus, shutter, and other parameters. A base mount and external battery adapter are included for powering the gimbal from its BG30 grip.
For what it is... providing a 2nd short cable and an option to mount the battery via NATO rails would have made this a better kit. Either way, wireless isn't always the best option so if you need a solid, wired, connection this is it for the RS2.
I had asked B&H before purchasing if this would specifically mount to the Kessler KC-12. While its pretty easy to mount the gimbal via the supplied plate, There is no way to mount the handles at the other end and no specific product i can find to do this, so im not really sure what to do... As always, support from DJI is pretty terrible. If anyone does find a way to mount the controls please let me know as the kit comes with zero mounting options.
