At the core of the C-800G's excellent sonic character is a 6AU6 vacuum tube, which provides warmth and presence to the input signal. The large-diaphragm condenser element yields a true frequency response of 20 Hz to 18 kHz, with a dynamic range of 113 dB. Cardioid and unidirectional polar patterns are user switchable at the front of the microphone, allowing you to select the polar pattern from the mic itself, rather than the power supply.
