Intellytech LC-160 V2 Overview

The LiteCloth 2.0 LC-160 Foldable 2 x 2 LED Two-Mat Kit with Gold mount was put together by Intellytech for imaginative imagers makers who realize the potential in shaping their quality of light by literally shaping the light source. The kit includes two LC-160 foldable 24 x 24" LED Mats, each with a softbox, a diffuser, a mounting bracket, a double-jointed silver stud, and a 100 to 240 VAC controller with a Gold mount battery plate.

The LiteCloth is a lightweight fixture that folds to just 12 x 12" for storage and transport. The LC-160 2.0 has a wide variable color range of 3000 to 10,000K allowing it to meet the challenge of any ambient light conditions, match other fixtures, or just to shoot creatively.

Takes too long to set up and tear down.

A high quality, high CRI broad-based 2'x2' soft light. But...  Each light takes15 minutes to set up - w/ soft box and grid and 15 minutes to tear down. Set up and tear down time for a two light set up: one hour.  I own the pair now, so I pack the lights horizontally, already set up with the soft box, diffusion and grid, wrapped in clear contractor bags, on top of pelican cases in my van. I leave the spud adaptor swivel ball hardware and power supplies in the cases. Now, at least the setup and tear down time isn't longer than the interview itself. Going through smaller security Mags will be a project.

For bedroom lighting.

Now these definitely get the job done, as long as its a small job. Color accuracy is great and the portability is hard to beat. This is the first thing we grab for offsite setups. But they are not bright enough. Need 4 of them to light one person in a Studio with 12ft ceiling. And the weird mini DXM/XLR cable makes it hard to connect. You have to make the cable or have them custom made. Wish they had a standard connector version.
