Offered here in a pair, the BX4 from M-Audio is a 2-way, studio monitor designed to offer a wide frequency response and easy configuration for producers, podcast creators, mixing engineers, and others who require a critical ear. The monitor produces a frequency response of 69 Hz to 22 kHz, thanks to two amplifiers feeding a 4.5” Kevlar woofer and 1” silk-dome tweeter.
A rear-mounted bass port delivers extended bass response, while the tweeter’s computer-engineered waveguide yields a wide sweet spot and minimized high-frequency scatter. Volume and high- and low-frequency controls are provided, so you can tune the monitor to cooperate with the sound of the room. The monitors have both RCA and balanced 1/4" jacks, so you have your choice of what kind of device you input into the speakers.
One monitor houses the power and controls, distributing power to the other by means of an included 3.5mm TS interconnect cable. Choose which monitor is on the left and which is on the right, ensuring everything is playing back correctly by means of L/R switches on the rear.
If you want to monitor privately, you can do so via the front-mounted 3.5mm headphones output with volume control. Also, plug in your favorite compatible media player by means of the 3.5mm auxiliary input. The monitors ship with a copy of Pro Tools | First, so you can get started manipulating audio in the digital world right away.
