Available for download, Overloud Choptones Brit 900 2C EL34 emulates a classic guitar amplifier, providing cabinet emulations and stompbox models to boot, all for use with the Overloud TH-U platform. The amplifier, cabinets, stompboxes, and microphones used were emulated by Choptones, a company venerated for its emulations ported to multiple platforms.
This particular expansion library recreates the sound of a Marshall JCM900 Hi Gain Dual Reverb 4100 with EL34 power tubes. This model takes the principles of the venerated 800 series and adds a second channel as well as two gain features. Since you can push up to 20 dB of gain on the second channel, you can push it into heavy distortion without needing separate pedals.
The engineers modeled this amplifier in multiple configurations, with a wide array of cabinets, microphones, and stompboxes. There are 126 rigs offered in total, captured with Shure, Royer, Audix, and Neumann microphones, among others. Cabinets from Marshall, EVH, Orange, and more have been utilized. The Ibanez TS-9, Fulltone OCD , and other pedals were used to give the user all sorts of full blistering tones.
