Available for download, the Overloud Choptones Fried Jerry Expansion Library is a selection of guitar amp and cabinet emulations for use with the Overloud TH-U platform. The amplifier, cabinets, stompboxes, and microphones were emulated by Choptones, a company known for its models ported to multiple platforms.
This particular expansion library recreates the sound of a Friedman JJ100 Jerry Cantrell Signature amplifier. The amp is known for its ability to generate saturated, complex, and harmonically pleasant overtones, as well as a tight articulation that won't sacrifice any notes in a chord. It's comparable, at least in its clean state, to a classic AC30 tone. All in all, it's a great selection for recreating a Seattle guitar sound in the box.
Choptones has modeled this amp in multiple configurations, using a wide array of cabinets, microphones, and stompboxes. You'll find 260 rigs offered in total, captured with Shure, Royer, AKG, and other microphones used. Multiple cabinets have been utilized from Mesa Boogie, Bogner, EVH, and more. Many distortion pedals have been modeled as well.
