Available for download, Overloud BHS METLX is a selection of guitar amp and cabinet emulations for use with the Overloud TH-U platform. The amplifier, cabinets, stompboxes, and microphones were emulated by Big Hairy Sounds, a company known for profiling amplifiers and cabinets for digital media.
This particular expansion library recreates the sound of three amps responsible for many of your favorite metal tones from the '80s and '90s. The Metaltronix GP-1000 is a single-channel high-gain pramp used frequently by Zakk Wylde in his original rack setup. The Metaltronix M-1000 is a two-channel head that was often used throughout the late '80s, and it sports a loud and high-gain variant of a classic, though modded British tone. Finally, this pack models the Marshall JCM800 and Silver Jubliee, which provide essential classic metal tones.
The engineers modeled this amplifier in multiple configurations with a wide array of cabinets, microphones, and stompboxes. There are 70 rigs offered in total, with 31 presets dedicated to recreating classic '80s and '90s tones.
In addition, this expansion library offers a new modulation rack called the Symphonic 90, which is designed to give you the unique and instantly recognizable chorus tones of the '80s and '90s. If you want Yamaha-style symphonic modulation in the box, this is the effect to use.
