Manfrotto Pro Scrim Overview

From Manufacturer

Ideal for location shooting, the Manfrotto Small Pro Scrim All-in-One Kit measures 3.6 x 3.6' and features a lightweight design. It can be set up very quickly and features grip gear integration as well as the fabrics most popular with shooters. The kit is built around a sturdy aluminum frame with an internal elastic cord that holds it together when packed to keep it separate from other components.

Included are three fabrics each of which will quickly clip onto the frame and just as quickly unclip when you want to swap it out for another fabric. The black fabric subtracts light from the subject and can be used to create a light-to-dark ratio in flat light conditions, to block out unwanted light, or greatly reduce reflections on shiny surfaces. The reversible silver/white fabric serves two purposes. The silver side offers reflective qualities to create a snappy, high-contrast look with a cool color bias, and the white side provides neutral reflectance with a soft quality of light. Finally, the 1.25-stop diffusion fabric both reduces the amount of light falling on the subject and is also a valuable tool when used overhead to tame bright, contrasting light sources such as the sun. What about mounting? This is a complete kit so Manfrotto has you covered - a grip head with a 5/8" receiver is included to allow you to support the frame with a light stand. It all fits in the provided rigid case.

Manfrotto Pro Scrim Reviews

Very High Quality

My Mesh Screen Oinside Has An Inch Hole On Arrival In Corner Of Mesh From Metal Knob. Be Sure To Put Your Knobs In A Gallon Bag Along With Metal Hooks For You Will Be Sorry Otherwise. Case And Zippers Very Hig Quality. Mangrotto Should Have Bags For All For Metal Pieces. The Metal Framed Unassembled Looks Like It Will Last A Long Time But You Must Put Some Bag Over Sharp Metal Edges Or You May Be Double Sorry. VERY SHARP And Will Destroy Your Case Otherwise. Didn't Assemble Sheets But Hooks Look Like Home Runs And Cloth Seems Like They Will Last As Well. KEEP The Sheets Stored In The Thick Plastic Bags They Arrived With. A+ But Manfrotto For The Price Of Putting Metal Knobs And Plates In Plastic Or Other Materai Bags Is Just Common Sense For Such A High Cost Product. My Travel Case Came With A One Inch Hole In The Mesh Section For A Product That Sells For Over $1000. SHAME ON YOUR TEAM FOR POOR Intellignce

The truth is you can use 8' sheets of 1" thick polystyrene with one side black and the other white for less than the cost of shipping these scrims but they are not very transparent and absolutely not easily transported. I have used such scrims for years. These Manfrotto scrims come with a variety of very high quality fabrics, which are easily changed and are pulled very tight by the clipping system. Highly recommended but please lower the price to something reasonable, Manfrotto.

The picture shows 4 different diffusion fabrics but the kit only comes with 2. Is there somewhere I can purchase the other 2?

At this time, Manfrotto does not make silver or white for the 9.5 x 9.5' frame found in the Manfrotto Extra Large Pro Scrim All-in-One Kit (9.5 x 9.5'). The Manfrotto Small Pro Scrim All-in-One Kit (3.6 x 3.6') would come with all four (4) styles of fabric.

Is there any difference between this and LastoLite?
Asked by: Huang
If you are comparing the Lastolite Skylite Rapid Extra Large Kit (10 x 10'), B&H # LALR83344R, to the Manfrotto Extra Large Pro Scrim All-in-One Kit (9.5 x 9.5') listed above, the Lastolite kit would be slightly larger in size. The Manfrotto kit would include two (2) grip heads and two (2) ears which would allow you to connect the scrim to light stands, whereas these accessories would need to be purchased separately to connect the Lastolite scrim to a light stand.

Where can I get the ears for this kit? I already own a few of these, before they started offering the ears.
Asked by: M.D.
The Manfrotto Extra Large Pro Scrim All-in-One Kit (9.5 x 9.5') (B&H# MAMLLC3301K) does come with the ears, but they aren't widely available separately. However, we have many options for clamps that will hold the edges of the frame. Here's a sampling of those: Matthews Quick Reverse Ear for 1" Square Tube (B&H# MAEQRTS1) https://bhpho.to/3SYkFGK Matthews Baby Pin for 1" Square Tubing (B&H# MA409209) https://bhpho.to/3RhOWPv Proaim SnapRig Quick Reverse Ear for 1" Square Tube (B&H# PRGP205) https://bhpho.to/3tw8Utl Impact Super Clamp with 5/8" Snap-In Pin (B&H# IMCC106TSIP) https://bhpho.to/47rLuYm
