- For 77, 72, or 67mm Front Filter Threads
- Usable with 70 to 300mm Focal Lengths
- ~1:1 Magnification at 200mm Focal Length
- Creates Macro Effect
This NiSi 77mm Close-Up Lens Kit II offers the ability to achieve macro-like results with camera lenses that feature focal lengths from 70 to 300mm and have 77, 72, or 67mm front filter threads. A close-up lens is a magnifier that optically decreases the focal length of a camera lens placed behind it. This effect lessens the minimum focus distance between the camera lens and a subject. Magnification can then be obtained by decreasing the distance between the subject and the combined camera lens and close-up lens. On lenses with or set to a 200mm focal length, this close-up lens provides an approximate 1:1 magnification.

What is the focusing range when using these lenses?
The NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II with 67 and 72mm Step-Up Rings is a close-up magnifier. The focus distance and the magnification will vary, depending on the lens you use it on. When used on a 200mm lens you will get a 1:1 life size image. This is the same maximum magnification as most macro lenses.

On an MIcro Four Thirds camera would the minimum focal length be 35mm or still the stated 70mm?
The idea behind this lens is that on a 70-200mm lens (or equivalent) it will give you a working distance down to about 8 inches and you will be able to shoot an area as small as about 1" high by 1.5" wide. For a MFT camera, a 35-100mm lens equals a 70-200mm lens on a full frame. Your 35-100mm, or there about, will give the same result. I hope this answers your question. how much vignetting would occur on a 82mm filter using a step up ring? unfortunately my sigma 70-200 has 82mm front threads. It wouldn't kill me if I had to crop in a bit to eliminate the vignette.
quick test and happy to see no vignetting at 200mm on the sigma 70-200 and only slight at 70mm, which I really wasn't planning on utilizing anyhow.

What is the difference between "NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II" and "NiSi MC Close-Up Lens 77mm PRO II"?
Hi, NiSi MC Close-Up Lens 77mm PRO II is actually the older model and has been replaced with the NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II. A little confusing, however, the Pro II version is no longer available and had a different ring style surrounding the glass. NC stands for "Nano Coating" and MC stands for "Multi-Coating"
