What is the processor speed?

What is the processor speed?
Asked by: jim
Benchmark tools peg it at 3.0ghz, however it's a completely different architecture so comparisons to x86 Intel chips doesn't mean much. With that said, in every benchmark and usability test I've seen so far, and using it in person, it bests the mobile Intel chips that Apple uses - all of them, including the latest that they use in the MacBook Pro. It's a very impressive unit. It's possible that there are some x86 (old) apps that you might run into issues with, but in my limited testing I had no issues, and that seems to be the same experience I'm seeing everywhere.

What is the percentage (fps) difference in photo ...

What is the percentage (fps) difference in photo rendering speed between the MacBook AIR with Apple's 7 Core GPU and the MacBook Pro with Apple's 8 Core GPU? Same question for video?
Asked by: Chris
Photo editing will be about the same speed in all the benchmarks I have seen done by professional reviewes. For video editing, it will highly depend on the codec, resolution, bitrate and FPS the footage was shot in but the difference was also very minimal. The Macbook Pro has a cooling fan and it was able to achieve longer sustained CPU frequencies thanks to that while the Macbook Air did throttle a bit but it was not enough to make a big difference. Keep in mind, this is not something we test and I am going by information that is publicly available which I cannot verify myself and test.
